Description

Taman Mini Indonesia indah

About 9 kilometers from Jakarta, there is a part called Taman Mini Indonesia Indah. It is very famous now in English, this means “Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature”.

These is a large lake in the middle of the park in the middle of the lake, we can see the island of Indonesia in miniature. The orchids garden around the lake also beautiful.

In taman mini we can also see house from different parts of Indonesia for instance, there is Dayak house, Minangkabau house and Toraja house. We can also visit shop which it sells souvenir from all over Indonesia. There are also restaurant where visitors can buy food and drinks.

People who came to taman mini can either walk around the park or get on train. On all days of the week, we can see foreign tourist in taman mini Indonesia indah. “During week – ends and holidays, we can also see thousand of Indonesia.


Description

Magazine

A magazine is usually well illustrated. A good illustration will attract the readers to buy it. Unlike a news paper, a magazine is printed on a thicker and more expensive than a news paper. It is also completed with full colored pictures. A picture will deepen the impression of the readers on certain news. To attract the readers, magazine give us an entertaining articles or another instructive article useful for our daily life, e.g. health and fitness tips, consultation about certain problem, etc.

Yuliana

Yuliana an old friend of mine, Is a girl of medium height. She is very good looking, too, with long black hair and attractive brown ayes.

Yuliana lives not so far away from my house. She is a computer programmer and works for a big software company in Jakarta. She always drives to work. She leave her house at 07.00 am and finishes work at 4.00 pm.

Yuliana does not like cooking very much and she hates doing the housework. What are her hobbies? She likes reading detective stories and collecting stamps. She also loves playing the piano on weekends. One a day she would like to join a famous piano concert in her city. I hope her wish will come true.


Description

Coconut

Coconut is a common name for the fruit of tree of the palm family. People usually call the tree coconut palm. Coconut grow well in tropical countries. They can grow up to 30 m high. They have a single cylindrical trunk. At the top of the trunk, there Is a crown of leaves. The leaves are long. They are about 3 to 4,5 m long.

The fruit grows in clusters. In one cluster there are about 10-20 coconut. The fruit is oval and about 30 cm long. It has a thick husk and a hard shell. Inside the shell there is white oily meat. There is also a sweet fluid.

Coconut palms are very useful plants. People can use every part of the tree in their lives. they dry the coconut meat into copra. After that they can get oil from it and use in the daily cooking or make it into soap or candles. People can also make rope and doormats from the coconut’s husk.


Description

Kuta

Kuta bay, with it’s long stretch of white sand, and brilliant sunset, has attracted swarms of visitors. This bay has been rediscovered by surfer and sun worshipper in 1970’s

Lovina beach

Lovina is an 8 km stripe of black sand on Bali’s northern coast. It was renowned for it’s serenity and for local school of dolphin

Zeus and the Jack Daw

Once upon a time, Zeus, the most important got in ancient Greece, decided the bird should have a king. Well, he told them the would choose the most handsome bird to their leader or course, all the bird wanted to win, didn’t they? They flew away to the river. the chattered and washed there. Beside, they made their feathers smooth with their beaks.

Nor. Let me tell you about the jack Daw, well, he wanted to be a king, but he knew Zeus would not choose him. You know why? yeaahh….. because his feathers were too dull. But, he had an idea. I tell you what. When the other bird left, he quickly picked up the feathers they had dropped. The, he attached them to his own.


Narrative

The golden snail

Once upon a time there was an old widow. Her name was Mbok Rondo Dadapan. She was very poor. Her job was looking for the fish along the river. The river was not far from her hut.

One day, she found a golden snail. She took the snail home and put it in the jar in her kitchen. She kept the snail well and feed it enough food.

Several days later, after coming back from her daily fishing, she found delicious meal on the table. Her hut was clean. And this happened almost every day for a long time.

The one day, she did not go fishing. But she peeped from outside of her hut. She saw a beautiful princess going out of the jar where she kept the golden snail. The princess prepared the meal and cleaned the hut.

The princess was surprised when Mbok Rondo Dadapan came in and asked, “Who are you?” so the princess told her life and was willing to be Mbojk Rondo Dadapan’s Daughter.

Finally she did not become a golden snail anymore. She become a beautiful girl.


Narrative

Bandung Bondowoso and Roro Jongrang

(The Lagend of Prambanan Temple)

Once, there was a beautiful Javanese princess. Whose name was Rara Jongrang. Rara Jongrang whose beauty was very famous in the land was the daughter of Prabu Baka, an evil king.

One day, a handsome young man with supernatural power named Bandung Bondowoso defeated and killed Prabu Baka. On seeing princess Rara Jongrangs beauty, Bandung Bondowoso fell in love with her and wanted to marry her.

Meanwhile, princes Rara Jongrang felt sad due to her death father. She did not want to marry Bandung Bondowoso he killed her father. But she was also afraid of Bandung. So to refused politely she made a conditions. “I will marry you but you have to build one thousand temples in one night as a wedding gift”, requested Rara Joggrang. Bandung agreed with the condition.

At once, the princess turned into a statue. Knowing this, Bandung Bondowoso regretted and he went away into a far land. From then people called the temple Prambanan temple and the princess statue Rara Jonggrang statue.

Thumbelina

There was once a women who wanted a small child but didn’t know where to get one. So she went to a witch for a help.

“A little child?” said the witch. “That’s easy, here a magic seed, plant it in a flower pot and see what happens!”

The woman thanked the witch, paid her with a piece of silver, and went to plant the magic seed. As soon as it touched the soil, the seed grew into a tulip, whose flower opened with a pomp in the middle of the flower sat a tiny girl.

“Why, the pretty little thing is handily as big as my thumb!” cried the woman I am going to call her Thumbelina”.

The woman made Thumbelina a bed from a walnut shell. Instead of going out, Thumbelina played on the kitchen table. Her favorite game was sailing across a bowl of water in a boat made from tulip leaf. As she sailed, she sang in a high, sweet voice.

The Wicked Crocodile

A long time ago there lived a crocodile in a river. It become good friends with an old monkey. Which live on the top of a tree on the river bank.

One day the Crocodile could not find anything to eat. He felt very hungry. He suddenly remembered his good friends the Monkey. He went to visit his friend.

On seeing the Crocodile, the Monkey asked “How are you today? O…. Mr. Crocodile? Where are you going?”

“I am going to look after my wife who is in do come to my house,” said the Crocodile and pretended to cry.

The Monkey set on the Crocodile’s back as he swam to wands the middle of the river. Once there, the crocodile lowered his back into the water.
